How do I restring Jammy if the string breaks?
It's highly unlikely that strings on your Jammy Guitar are going to break anytime soon. Although, "how do I restring it" is the question on the minds of many of Jammy Guitar players — and we've got the answer!
In this video, you'll see the detailed tutorial on how to change strings on your Jammy.

Let's start simple and unscrew the strap button.
Now, let's remove the volume knob — just hook it with a pick and take it off.
Unscrew the two fasteners and detach the cover from the bottom part of the strumming section.
Next, remove the two screws that hold the backplate in place, and slide the plate towards the bottom.
Take out the two screws near the connector, and remove the end cap. Take off the string saddles cover and, with the hex key that goes with your Jammy, unscrew the hex bolt at the end of the string you want to change.
The two neighboring strings are connected to the same mount, so you'll have to take them out together. To do it, pull the strings towards the connector. All you have to do now is take out the broken string, and replace it with a new one!

What is Jammy?
We designed Jammy for people who want to strum a chord or two while traveling but cannot stand the pain of carrying a full-fledged six-stringer around.
Jammy is a portable smart guitar with real metal strings that can easily fit in your backpack and complies with the airlines carry-on regulations.
You can use it as a MIDI controller, plug it directly into an AMP or play with your earphones anywhere. Designed for straight-out-of-the-box usage, Jammy requires no additional software. Once a pair of earbuds is plugged in, you're ready to rock!
Sounds hella nice, eh?
At just 17" long when disassembled, Jammy has a 15-fret neck suitable for playing most of your favorite rock songs and supports your favorite guitar techniques.
While being totally portable and autonomous, Jammy is accompanied by a mobile application. It enables you to switch among different acoustic or electric guitars, play to a metronome, change guitar tuning, and configure the onboard FX pedal chains.
Here is a short guide on how to assemble Jammy:

How long does the battery last on Jammy?
The battery will last about 4+ hours of active playing (it doesn’t matter whether you are using Jammy in audio or MIDI mode).
In the Jammy app, the battery status bar indicates the remaining charge.
If you are using your guitar without the app, keep an eye on the LED pattern on the device’s head (it will change to red when there’s less than 5% of the charge left).
Is a battery in Jammy interchangeable?
No, you can't change the Jammy’s battery, but you can easily charge it using a common USB-C (aka Type-C) cable that can be plugged into any USB power source such as a laptop or into a wall outlet using 2A adaptor.
Can I use Jammy with Bluetooth earphones/speakers?
No, Jammy does not work with Bluetooth speakers or headphones. We are aiming for the best playability-to-portability ratio in Jammy guitar, and our top priority is to avoid considerable latency. Trying to achieve this quality, we work very hard and cannot settle for anything less than hi-tech electronics ensuring the minimal sound latency. For this reason, we do not use Bluetooth for audio transition; we generate sound on board, sending the signal straight to an amp or headphones via audio jacks, or to a computer via USB type C.
Is there a version for left-handed players?
As for now, current version of Jammy is available only in the right-handed version.
However, there is new Jammy EVO coming soon, and it will be available in the left-handed version!
For more information about Jammy EVO for lefties, please, check this link!
How long does it take to fully charge Jammy?
It takes around 6 hours for our digital guitar to fully charge depending on whether the USB cable is plugged into a USB port or into a wall outlet using 2A adaptor.
Getting started
How to connect Jammy to the iOS App
Connecting your Jammy to the companion app on your phone or tablet is a breeze!
To do that, please follow these steps:1
- Turn on the guitar by pushing the Power button on the top until it lights up;
- Wait for the LED-indicator to change from purple to light blue. It’s better not to touch the strings on the right part while the led is glowing purple. At that time the sensors are calibrating and connecting to the left part of the guitar, and the disruption of this process may make you repeat it all over again.
- Once the LED on the button is light blue, go to your Jammy App and tap the Connect Jammy button;
- Give it a moment to pair. The LED on the power button will turn to bright blue while in pairing mode. Once Jammy is connected to the companion app, you will see the Jammy is Connected sign on the top left of the screen.
Now you’re ready to rock!
If your Jammy is not connecting to the app, please try to Unlink Jammy from the app and try connecting once again. Tap on the Gear icon on the top left -> About Jammy -> Unlink.
Here is a short video guide on how to connect your Jammy using iOs App:
How to connect Jammy to the Android App
Connecting your Jammy to the companion app on your phone or tablet is very easy! To do that, you will need to complete a few simple steps:
- Turn on the guitar by pushing the power button until it lights up;
- Wait for the LED indicator to change from purple to white. It’s better not to touch the strings while the LED is glowing white as at the time, it’s calibrating and connecting to the left part of the guitar, or there’s a chance you will need to start the process all over again.
- Once the LED on the button is white, go your Jammy App and tap on Connect Jammy button and enable location tracking;
- Give it a moment to pair. Once the Jammy is connected to the companion app, you will see the Jammy is Connected sign on the top left of the screen, and now you’re ready to rock!
If you are experiencing any issues with connecting Jammy to the App:
1) Make sure your Location Services are enabled on your phone and grant a permission for them to Jammy App. To check this, search for Location in your phone settings, choose Jammy App from the list of applications and enable location services for the Jammy App.
Please, note, we do not collect any information about your physical location, it's requested due to the Bluetooth usage requirements.
2) Try Unlinking your Jammy from the App and connect it once again. You can do it by tapping on the Gear icon in the top left -> About Jammy -> Unlink.
How to use Jammy without app
One of the great things about Jammy, you need as little as an amplifier or headphones aside from the guitar to get into it!
With Jack 1/4” and Jack 1/8” all you need to do is to connect your Jammy to an amplifier or plug your headphones in, you’re good to start playing.
The sound generates on board and sends the audio signal directly to the connected device.
You can also use your Jammy as a MIDI controller when merely connecting it to your computer via USB - Type-C cable.
How to check Jammy’s battery status?
In the Jammy app, the battery status bar indicates the remaining charge. If you are using your guitar without the app, keep an eye on the LED pattern on the device’s head (it will change to red when there’s less than 5% of the charge left).
How to set volume
Volume can be easily adjusted with the knob on the front of the guitar whether you're using the Jammy app or not. Also, you can also adjust the strings volume manually when connected to the Jammy. To do that you will need to do the following:
- Go to the Jammy app;
- Make sure that the guitar is connected;
- Tap on the Settings gear on the top left;
- Tap on Jammy Sensitivity settings;
- Tap on each string to adjust its String Volume manually.
What if my strings are too loose or too tight?
We know that the tension of the strings can be tricky. It can change during transportation, it can affect the tuning, and you need to start all over again.
With Jammy, all of it is in the past. Tuning will stay the same no matter what, but you can still adjust the string tension to your preferences to make your experience more lifelike.
To do it:
- Remove the back panel on your Jammy’s left part.
- Remove the plate with the Jammy logo at the top of the fretboard
- Move the back panel forward
- By turning the hex bolts with the hex key that goes with your Jammy Guitar, you can tighten or loosen your strings.
- When putting the panel back, make sure to place it under the latch before closing it
String tension in the left part of Jammy doesn’t change the tuning, but it does affect all the left-hand techniques like tapping, hammer-ons, pull-offs, bending and sliding. For optimal performance, we recommend that the tension is nor too tight, neither too loose. Here is a short video on how to adjust string tension on Jammy:

Sensitivity Settings and Presets
Basic Techniques
This preset turns off slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, bending and vibrato. Only the notes you pick with your right hand will be tracked. You can use this preset to play rhythm guitar parts, scales, classical pieces and to get a clean MIDI recording without any unwanted notes..
Super Tapping
It has the Hammer-On and Pull-Off Sensitivities set pretty high, so even a pretty light tap on the fretboard will be tracked as a hammer-on. Pull-Offs to an open string are very sensitive, as well.
All Hammer-Ons, No Pull-Offs
Has the Hammer-On Sensitivity set pretty high, but the Pull-Off Sensitivity is lowered to the minimum. This works similarly to putting a string dampener (or fret wrap) onto an electric guitar, preventing the open strings from producing unwanted pull-offs.
Increased Tapping Sensitivity
Will be useful if you want the strings to be more sensitive to hammer-ons and pull-offs than the Default (Alternative) preset, but less sensitive than Super Tapping.
Increased Right Hand Muting Sensitivity
Will be useful if you’re having trouble stopping the strings from ringing by placing your right hand on them.
Increased Left Hand Muting Sensitivity
Use if you’d like Jammy to track the notes even when you’re picking them very lightly.
Troubleshoot Self-Muting Strings
Choose it if one or more of your strings tend to mute themselves even if your left hand isn’t muting them.
Increased Right Hand Muting Sensitivity
This preset will be useful if you’re having trouble stopping the strings from ringing by placing your right hand on them.
Increased Left Hand Muting Sensitivity
This preset will be useful if you find that muting the strings with your left hand isn’t sensitive enough.
Increased Picking Sensitivity
This preset will be useful if you’d like Jammy to track the notes even when you’re picking them very lightly.
Troubleshoot Self-Muting Strings
This preset will be useful if one or more of your strings tend to mute themselves even if your left hand isn’t muting them.
Sensitivity Settings
Picking Loudness
Defines the velocity level of every string when picking and strumming. If some strings feel louder or quieter than others, this setting can help you balance them out.
Sharp Right-Hand Muting Sensitivity
Defines how easily you can mute the sound by quickly putting your right hand on the ringing string. If this setting is set too high, the strings might sometimes mute themselves.
Left-Hand Muting Sensitivity
Defines how easily you can mute the sound by touching the string on the fretboard. If you experience sound cut-offs frequently when playing scales or melodic runs, try lowering this setting. If you’re playing open chords and some of the open strings sound muted, lowering this setting can help, as well.
Hammer-On and Pull-Off Switch
Lets you turn the detection of hammer-ons, pull-offs and tapping on and off.
Hammer-On and Pull-Off Loudness
Defines the velocity level of hammer-ons, pull-offs and tapping.
Alternative Tapping Detection
Changes the algorithm that's being used to detect hammer-ons and pull-offs. Set this parameter to '1' for the strings that don't produce hammer-ons or pull-offs even when their sensitivity is set to the maximum.
Hammer-On Sensitivity
Defines how easy it is to trigger hammer-ons and tapping.
Pull-Off Sensitivity
Defines how easy it is to trigger pull-offs to an open string.
Slide Switch
Lets you turn the detection of slides on and off.
Slide Up Sensitivity
Defines how easy it is to trigger and upwards slide.
Slide Down Sensitivity
Defines how easy it is to trigger a downwards slide.
Bending and Vibrato Switch
Lets you turn the detection of bending and vibrato on and off.
Step 3: Calibration
Hey there!
Super happy to hear that have already got your hands on Jammy!
Since your Jammy is a digital device, its performance relies significantly on how well the sensors work. Which, in turn, depends on the string calibration. Although the calibration happens automatically each time you boot your guitar, there are a couple of things you need to make this process smooth as possible. So let's get to it!
Turn the guitar on by pushing the power button until it lights up, and wait for the LED indicator to change from purple to light blue. Make sure not to touch strings while the LED is glowing purple — they're being calibrated now. If you do touch a string before the LED turns light blue, your Jammy won't play properly, and you might need to start all over again.
Once the LED is light blue, you can start playing immediately or proceed with connecting it to the app.
Backtracks
Backing tracks are yet another option that makes your jams pleasant — you are going to feel like reaping it with a real band! Currently, we have 20 prerecorded tracks that you can jam along to.
Tap on any track to get its scale displayed along with the keynotes to help you jam in key. All your jams can be recorded and retrieved from now on with an auto-recording feature. Practicing and improvising is easier than ever — and more fun!
To access the backtracks section, tap on the corresponding button at the bottom right in the app. Once you tap on the Backtracks button, you'll see the list of all tracks along with your user history.
Auto-recording feature
Do you happen to get some dope musical ideas while jamming? But putting your guitar aside amidst the jam to record those ideas is too much of a hassle, isn't it? We've got you covered with yet another cool feature for you!
You can turn auto-recording feature in your General Settings -> Jammy sessions. It will automatically record all the sessions (continuous uninterrupted playing) once it's turned on. If you don't strum the chords for at least 30 seconds, Jammy will stop recording.
The recordings then are stored in the Jammy's internal memory — and you can easily download them in MIDI format to your phone.

Each string is sent as a separate MIDI channel (by default it’s Channel 2 for the low E string through the Channel 7 for the high E string) that can be changed via DAW. You can assign any instrument and change the sound Jammy produces.
Apart from letting you play different instruments in your DAW with different strings, MIDI channels are useful when you’re using notation software that allows recording tabs as you play.
The pitch-bending range - can now be adjusted in Jammy settings so that it works well with some software instruments that have a 4-octave pitch shift by default.
Muted notes configuration - here are your string muting controls. When you mute the strings while playing, Jammy will send Program Change messages, letting you switch between instruments or choose different articulations of the instrument. The send muted notes feature will let you filter out muted notes completely.
If you prefer the muted notes ring, just toggle the switch on.
Volume knob press in MIDI - this setting allows you to use the volume knob to control the parameters inside your DAW by sending MIDI continuous control messages. Pressing the knob toggles between the minimum and maximum value and turning the knob changes the parameter continuously.
Built-in accelerometer is a motion sensor that lets you control different aspects of the sound by tilting your Jammy. You can use it to control parameters in your DAW.
You can find more information about MIDI features in the Jammy App in this video:

Jammy with Avid Pro Tools Part 1: Geting started instructions (PC / Windows)
Before you start:
- Make sure that Jammy is reasonably charged. Somewhere between 15% and 100% of charge will give you enough juice to power through the session. Jammy will also be charging while plugged into your computer.
- Use the USB cable supplied with your Jammy or any other USB to USB-C cable. If you want to use USB-C to USB-C cable with Jammy, you will need to use USB-C to USB-A adapter on the side that’s plugged into your computer.
- Make sure that the USB cable you are using is working correctly and Jammy is connected to a high-speed USB port (USB 3.0).
- We recommend running the USB cable straight into your computer. Using a USB hub (especially an older model) or plugging Jammy into a USB 2.0 port may introduce unwanted tracking latency.
- Plug Jammy into your PC using a USB cable.
- Turn on your Jammy and let it calibrate as usual.
- Wait for the device connection/recognition audio signal from the OS.
Using Jammy with Pro Tools
Jammy guitar in MIDI mode is a handy MIDI controller that allows you to control any virtual instrument or MIDI-controlled setting in ProTools.
Pro Tools DAW recognizes Jammy guitar as “MIDI Function [Emulated]” (or “MIDIfunctn[Eml]” when displayed in track settings).
To select Jammy as your main MIDI input source:
1) Go to Setup > MIDI Input Devices.
2) Check “MIDI function [Emulated]” and click OK.
3) Strum a few notes or chords on your Jammy – you should see them displayed in the information section. Note that Jammy will use the last tuning applied when connecting to the Jammy mobile app.
Using Virtual instruments (AAX and other plugin formats)
To control virtual instruments and/or MIDI-enabled settings in Pro Tools using Jammy:
Create a new (virtual) Instrument Track (or use an existing one). In our example, we use Air Xpand!2 virtual instrument (comes bundled with the current versions of Pro Tools).
- Select MIDI Function [Emulated] as your MIDI source (your input for a virtual instrument) as described in the previous section.
- And start jamming! :)
- Record your Jammy MIDI output as you would using any other MIDI controller.
Adjusting Jammy to match your playing style
You can adjust Jammy in MIDI mode using both the built-in MIDI controls of your DAW and within the Jammy app for mobile (the one you use to connect Jammy to your iOS or Android device). We recommend starting with a more global adjustment from within the app and then tweaking it further within the DAW.
Adjusting Jammy MIDI mode using the app
- Turn on your Jammy and connect it to the app.
Tap the gear in the top left corner of the app interface to access the Settings.
- In Settings, go to Jammy MIDI.
Here you will find the controls for adjusting the global and fine MIDI settings for Jammy.
To adjust sensitivity, return to Settings and tap Jammy Sensitivity. Adjust as necessary.
Adjusting sensitivity and velocity in Pro Tools
For fine-tuning Jammy’s midi setting from within your Pro Tools DAW:
Go to Event>MIDI Real-Time Properties.
- Open MIDI Real-Time Properties and configure the settings available for the MIDI track you’re controlling with Jammy in MIDI mode.
Check out this article to learn how to use mappable hardware controls.
If you run into any difficulties while using Jammy with Pro tools, check our article for tips, tricks and troubleshooting.
Jammy with Pro Tools Part 2: Using mappable hardware controls
Accelerometer
Jammy has a built-in accelerometer – a motion sensor that lets you control different aspects of the sound by tilting your Jammy. For instance, you can use it to control pitch, like a whammy bar. After enabling this in the app, tilt the neck of your Jammy up to raise the pitch or down to lower the pitch ( this works both in MIDI and audio mode).
Accelerometer can control sound parameters in the DAW. You can set any MIDI command on it, for instance control envelope filter or raise/lower the pitch. This is controlled through Jammy MIDI settings in the Jammy app.
In the app. turn on the accelerometer - “Accelerometer in MIDI”.
Below it, set the MIDI CC number (Send MIDI CC Number) that the accelerometer will be sending (and map to a specific function/action in your DAW if necessary).
Note: When set to “1”, it will work as a Mod wheel – this is a setting used by most DAWs by default .
Volume knob
Has push and turn parameters. Pressing the volume knob toggles between the minimum and maximum value, basically working as an on/off switch. Turning the knob changes the parameter continuously.

Jammy with Pro Tools: Tips, tricks, and troubleshooting
No sound, no MIDI signal:
Make sure your Jammy is charged, powered on, and connected to your computer using a cable. No, really. We’ve been there a million times ourselves. Remember that Jammy powers off after a period of inactivity (you can adjust it from within the Settings in the mobile app).
Check if the cable is working well - try switching it for another USB cable that you know to work 100% well.
If Pro Tools doesn’t recognize Jammy as a MIDI input device upon launch and you don’t see it on the list of the MIDI devices, try closing Pro Tools and launching another DAW on your computer. Let it recognize your Jammy as a MIDI input device. Close that DAW. Re-start Pro Tools and you’re most likely to see the MIDI function [Emulated] (representing the Jammy) on the list of available MIDI input devices for Pro Tools. Tested to work for “Pro Tools, (Steinberg) Cubase 10, Pro Tools” launch sequence.
Lag and latency:
Check if the cable is working well - try switching it for another USB cable that you know to work 100% well.
Latency during tracking or playback? If it's playback, make sure you're not running several CPU-hungry virtual instruments and effects at the same time. It might cause an overall lag (you probably know it already, but your session could be working fine before adding one last synth you're trying to control over MIDI using Jammy) in your system and it could be that the Jammy-controlled instrument was that last straw that broke the camel's neck.
Adjust the latency in your audio interface settings. Keep it in mind that the minimum latency in Jammy is around 10-12 ms and cannot currently be decreased (the latency for Jammy EVO device is 8-10 ms)..
If you’re still having issues with connecting Jammy to Pro Tools as a MIDI controller, please contact our technical support, we’ll do everything we can to help you!
MIDI Settings
MIDI Settings let you set up how Jammy works in MIDI mode. You can access them in the Jammy mobile app by going to Settings ⚙ > MIDI Settings.
With MIDI Presets, I know we haven't covered nearly all the DAWs and software that you might be using, which is why we need your feedback! What MIDI Presets should we add next?
MIDI Presets
MIDI Presets let you quickly change all MIDI Settings to best match the software that you’re using Jammy with (Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Guitar Pro, GarageBand etc). You can find the full list of MIDI Presets and details on how to use them below.
MIDI Channels
Jammy sends the notes from each string into a separate MIDI channel, allowing you to split them between different virtual instruments or record tabs with accurate finger position information.
By default, Jammy uses channels 2 (for the low E string) through 7 (for the high E string), which is the optimal setting for GarageBand and Logic Pro. Some programs that support MIDI Guitar input (for example, Guitar Pro and virtual guitar VST plugins) expect channels 1 (for the high E string) through 6 (for the low E string).
Note that if you set multiple strings to the same MIDI Channel, bending one of these strings will pitch-bend the notes played on the other strings, as well.
String Bending
Pitch Bending Range (Divide By) controls whether string bending on Jammy will use the full range of the MIDI pitch wheel parameter or a fraction of it. This lets you adjust Jammy to the bending range of the software instrument that you’re playing.
By default, this parameter is set to 1, so that a full-step bend on Jammy will work the same as moving the pitch wheel on a MIDI keyboard all the way up.
With some software instruments, moving the pitch wheel all the way up will result in a pitch bend of several octaves. In this case, you can increase the Pitch Bending Range (Divide By) parameter to keep string bending within the normal range. The wider the bending range of the software instrument, the higher you need to set this parameter.
So if you’re playing a software instrument and it feels like the strings go out of tune very easily, or making a full-step bend sends the note much higher than expected, you likely need to adjust the Pitch Bending Range (Divide By) parameter. For example, guitar instruments in GarageBand and Logic Pro will play bends naturally when Jammy’s Pitch Bending Range is divided by 24.
String Muting
Fret Hand Muting lets you choose what will happen if you’re picking a string while dampening it with your fretting hand.
The default option is “Don’t play notes”, so Jammy will not send any MIDI notes in this situation. If you choose “Play regular notes”, picking a dampened string will produce a MIDI note (determined by the last detected fret position before the string got dampened).
Palm Muting lets you trigger MIDI commands by palm muting the strings with your picking hand. You can choose from a number of modes:
- Off: No extra MIDI commands will be sent for palm muting.
- MIDI CC: A continuous control parameter (determined by MIDI CC Number) will be set to maximum (127) every time you palm mute the strings and minimum (0) every time you release them.
- Keyswitch: A MIDI note (determined by Primary Keyswitch) will start playing every time you palm mute the strings and stop playing every time you release them.
- 2 Keyswitches: A MIDI note (determined by Primary Keyswitch) will be playing while you’re palm muting the strings and another MIDI note (Secondary Keyswitch) will play while you’re not palm muting.
- MIDI CC and Keyswitch: The “MIDI CC” and “Keyswitch” modes will work at the same time.
- MIDI CC and 2 Keyswitches: The “MIDI CC” and “2 Keyswitches” modes will work at the same time.
Palm muting is triggered when 4 or more strings are simultaneously touched by the picking hand.
Accelerometer
Accelerometer Mode lets you choose how tilting the Jammy will control the MIDI parameter determined by MIDI CC Number:
- Off: Tilting the Jammy won’t control any parameters.
- Up and Down: Tilting Jammy all the way up will set the MIDI CC parameter to the maximum, tilting it all the way down will set it to the minimum, returning to the normal position will set the parameter in the middle.
- Up Only: Tilting Jammy all the way up will set the MIDI CC parameter to the maximum, returning to the normal position will set it to the minimum. Tilting down won’t affect the parameter.
- Down Only: Tilting Jammy all the way down will set the MIDI CC parameter to the maximum, returning to the normal position will set it to the minimum. Tilting up won’t affect the parameter.
The normal position of the Accelerometer is set to 10 degrees above the horizon.
Volume Knob
Volume Knob Press lets you trigger MIDI commands by pressing the Volume Knob. You can choose from a number of modes:
- Off: Pressing the Volume Knob won’t send any MIDI commands
- MIDI CC Toggle: A continuous control parameter (determined by MIDI CC Number) will be set to maximum (127) when you press the Volume Knob once and return to minimum (0) when you press the Volume Knob for the second time.
- MIDI CC Momentary: A continuous control parameter (determined by MIDI CC Number) will be set to maximum (127) while you press and hold the Volume Knob and will return to minimum (0) when you release it.
- Keyswitch Toggle: A MIDI note (determined by Primary Keyswitch) will start playing when you press the Volume Knob once and stop playing when you press the Volume Knob for the second time.
- Keyswitch Momentary: A MIDI note (determined by Primary Keyswitch) will start playing when you press the Volume Knob and stop playing when you release it.
- 2 Keyswitches Toggle: A MIDI note (determined by Primary Keyswitch) will start playing when you press the Volume Knob once and stop playing when you press the Volume Knob for the second time. Another MIDI note (Secondary Keyswitch) will start playing on the second Volume Knob press and will be stopped by the next press.
- 2 Keyswitches Momentary: A MIDI note (determined by Primary Keyswitch) will be playing while you’re holding down the Volume Knob and another MIDI note (Secondary Keyswitch) will play while the Volume Knob isn’t pressed.
Volume Knob Turn lets you control a MIDI CC parameter (determined by MIDI CC Number) by turning the Volume Knob. The parameter is initially set to Starting Value and every turn of the Volume Knob changes it by the Step amount.
Ableton Live Instant Mapping lets you control all 8 macro knobs in the selected Ableton racks with the single Volume Knob on Jammy. Pressing the Volume Knob will toggle between the 8 knobs and turning the Volume Knob will change the value of the selected macro parameter. To set up Ableton Live Instant Mapping, you’ll need to add a User Remote Script to your Ableton folder as described here.
Advanced
Turning on Playability Logging in MIDI will send additional SysEx messages in MIDI that help analyze note tracking and improve playability.
MIDI Presets
With the help of MIDI Presets, you can quickly adjust Jammy to work best with the software or hardware instruments that you’re using. Some software instruments require a different configuration of MIDI channels, others have a wider bending range than is natural for a guitar, and most of them let you control extra parameters via MIDI.
Here’s the list of existing MIDI Presets. If you’d like us to add new ones, drop us a line.
Default
This preset uses MIDI channels 2-7, is adjusted for instruments with a full-step pitch bending range and uses the Continuous Control messages (MIDI CCs) that shouldn’t accidentally trigger any parameters until you MIDI map them.
Ableton Live (Instant Mapping)
This preset allows you to use the Volume Knob to control all 8 macro knobs of Ableton’s racks. In order for this feature to work, you’ll need to download an Ableton script as described here.
Ableton Live (Manual Mapping)
This preset lets you manually map all the Jammy MIDI controls to the parameters in Ableton Live.
Ample Guitar
This preset is adjusted for Ample Guitar’s MIDI Guitar input mode and allows you to use palm muting in a natural way, access harmonics by toggling the Volume Knob and apply additional effects by tilting your Jammy.
